What are we racing against?
With hard work and unbreakable resolve, these brave kids are reaching their milestones and goals. Help them to reach the ultimate goal: END AHC.
This video shares the story of Lainey, an incredible little girl fighting daily against the hurdles of AHC.
Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood causes episodes of paralysis, dystonia (painful muscle contractions), cognitive and developmental delays, and in up to half of afflicted children, true epileptic seizures.
Every “attack” can increase the risk of neurological damage leading to further delays, sometimes permanent. After an attack, some kids lose abilities they had already learned. This cruel disease can rob children of milestones they’ve already reached, sometimes for good. Nevertheless they bravely work again and again to relearn and rebuild what they can. Please help them stop the cycle and get a chance to win back their childhood.
